HIDE FILES

How to hide videos on Android with MemoVault

You can keep private videos in the same vault as your photos while finding them in a separate Videos category. Check the import before removing any source files.

Step by step

  1. Unlock MemoVault

Tap the settings icon five times from the Training screen or memory game, then unlock your vault.

  2. Select the videos

Use the vault’s add/import control and select the videos you want to hide. Grant the requested access needed to read those files and complete the import.

  3. Check the result in Videos

Open the Videos category and confirm that the selected files appear. Open the videos you need to check; if an item cannot be opened, keep the original while you resolve the problem.

  4. Review other copies

Check whether the originals are still present in your normal gallery or file location. Keep them until you have confirmed a usable copy. Android permissions and the storage provider can affect removal of originals.

  5. Create a backup when needed

For a protected copy you can keep outside the vault or take to another phone, open Backup and create an encrypted archive. Keep its password and confirm the archive has been saved.

Do I need more storage for a backup?

The Backup screen shows an estimated backup size. Check that the destination has room for the archive, especially when your vault contains large videos. The estimate is not a reason to remove your existing copies before checking the backup.

Does hiding a video delete every copy?

No. Copies you saved elsewhere need to be checked separately. MemoVault cannot confirm that a file is absent from another app, storage account or device simply because it was imported into the vault.
