Step by step
Review what you need to keep
Check files, notes and contacts. Restore any files you need from Trash while they are still available. If you use Extra Vault, review its contents separately rather than assuming the main-vault backup includes it.
Choose how you want to keep your files
Use Unhide or Restore to device if you want ordinary accessible files. Use Backup to create an encrypted archive of supported main-vault content, including private notes and contacts. You can keep both when that suits your needs.
Save the archive and its password
Create a current encrypted backup, check where it was saved and retain its backup password. Keep the password somewhere you can still access after the app or device data has been removed.
Keep a copy outside anything being erased
Before a full phone reset, copy the archive or returned files to another device or suitable storage. A backup left only on the phone being reset can be erased along with everything else.
Verify before removing data
Check the copied archive and, where possible, restore it on the destination device and open the content you need. Only proceed with uninstalling, clearing data or resetting once you have verified the copies you plan to rely on.
Does Restore Purchases bring back my files?
No. Restore Purchases concerns Premium access through Google Play. Your private content requires the files or encrypted archive you kept. Premium is not a developer-operated cloud backup service.
What should I check outside the backup summary?
Keep important browser bookmarks somewhere you can recover, and check separate areas such as Extra Vault. Do not assume an archive includes every setting or piece of data simply because it includes main-vault files.
What do I do after reinstalling?
Open MemoVault, complete setup and use “Restore encrypted backup” with your retained archive and its original backup password. Check the restored content before removing any other copies.
