Step by step
Find and select the media
Open Photos or Videos and press and hold an item to enter selection mode. Select the items you want to return, checking the selection before continuing.
Choose Unhide
Use “Unhide” in the selection controls. The destination screen lets you choose where the selected media should go.
Pick a destination
Choose “Default gallery”, the “MemoVault” Restore folder, or “Choose folder” to browse device storage. When browsing folders, open the destination you want and tap “Restore here”.
Wait and check outside the vault
Let the operation finish, then check your gallery or the folder you selected. Open the returned files to confirm they are usable. Files returned to normal storage are no longer hidden by MemoVault.
For documents and audio, use Restore to device
Open the appropriate file category, open the item’s actions and choose “Restore to device”. Documents, audio and other files use Downloads by default. Check that location in your phone’s file manager.
Is this the same as restoring from Trash?
No. Restoring from Trash puts an item back inside your vault. Unhide or Restore to device moves it out to normal storage. If a file is in Trash, restore it there first before trying to return it to your device.
What if a folder cannot be used?
Android storage access affects which locations MemoVault can read or write. Follow any storage-access message and choose an accessible folder. If a move reports an error, check both the vault and destination before repeating the action or deleting anything.
Does an old encrypted backup change too?
No. A previously created backup is a separate archive. Returning a file to your device does not update or remove that archive.
