HIDE FILES

How to hide documents and files on Android

MemoVault can store documents alongside photos, videos and audio. Use the file picker to choose the items you want to import, then check their location inside File Manager.

Step by step

  1. Unlock the vault

Tap settings five times on the Training screen or inside the memory game, then authenticate with your vault password or supported biometrics.

  2. Choose your files

Start an import from the vault’s add/import control and choose the relevant files using the picker. Grant the requested file access and finish the import.

  3. Find the documents

Open Files, then Documents. Check Other Files for items classified outside the main media and document categories. Confirm that the files you chose are present.

  4. Check before removing originals

Keeping a document in the vault does not establish that every other copy has been deleted. Check the source folder and retain a usable copy until you have verified the import.

  5. Back up important content

Open Backup to create a password-protected archive containing supported vault data. Retain the resulting file and its backup password.

Is storing a file the same as opening it?

No. A file appearing in storage does not guarantee that an app or device can display its format. Check any document you need to use before relying on the vault as its only accessible location.

What if a document was saved somewhere else?

Importing a file into MemoVault does not remove copies from another device or service. Manage those copies in the place where they are stored. When privacy matters, also consider where a document came from and where you have shared it.
