HIDE FILES

How to hide photos on Android with MemoVault

MemoVault keeps your private photos behind a playable memory game. Import the pictures you want to hide, check that they are accessible in your vault, then lock it when you are finished.

Step by step

  1. Open your vault

On the Training screen or inside the memory game, tap the settings icon five times. Complete the vault setup if this is your first time, or unlock with your password or supported biometrics.

  2. Choose the photos to import

Use the add/import control inside the vault and choose the photos you want to keep there. Allow the media or file access requested for that action, then complete the import.

  3. Check the imported pictures

Open Photos in your vault and view the imported images. Check that you selected the right items before changing or deleting any other copies.

  4. Check where other copies remain

Review your normal gallery and any other places you saved the pictures. Whether the original can be removed depends on Android permissions and its storage location; importing into MemoVault does not confirm that every other copy has disappeared.

  5. Lock your vault

Use the vault lock control after checking your photos. Keep a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Where are the photos stored?

Vault photos stay on your device. MemoVault does not upload them to a developer-operated cloud vault. This means you need your own backup before changing phones, clearing app data or uninstalling.

What about albums and backups?

Use albums to organise private photos inside the vault. For a password-protected copy outside the app, create an encrypted Backup archive. The backup guide explains how this differs from simply hiding pictures.
