CONTACTS & NOTES

How to add and manage private contacts in MemoVault

Contacts is an address book inside your vault. You can create entries there directly or import a selected phone number from your device. Importing creates a private copy; it does not hide or delete the original entry in your phone’s Contacts app.

Step by step

  1. Open Contacts

From the vault home screen, open Contacts. Choose “New contact”, the add button, or “Add your first contact” if the address book is empty.

  2. Enter the details you want to keep

Add a name and phone number. “Add phone number” lets you include another number, and the private-note field gives you space for extra details. You can also choose “Add photo” for a contact picture. Tap “Save contact”.

  3. Import an existing number if needed

Instead of creating an entry manually, choose “Import contact” on the Contacts screen. Select the phone number in the device picker, then review the private entry that opens. The original device contact is not changed.

  4. Edit or use the entry

Open a saved contact and use its edit control to update the details, then choose “Save changes”. Selecting a phone number opens your phone’s dialler; any call you make is handled outside MemoVault.

  5. Remove a private entry

Open the contact, choose “Remove contact” and review the confirmation. Removal affects the MemoVault copy only. It does not remove the original device contact or a copy in an earlier backup.

How do I keep a contact only inside the vault?

Create it directly in MemoVault if you do not want a new entry in the normal address book. If you import an existing number, first check the saved private copy. Any decision to remove the original must be made separately in the app or account that stores it.

Are private contacts included in a backup?

The encrypted Backup feature supports private contacts and their profile photos. Check the Backup summary before creating an archive, and keep that archive and its password if you need to move to another phone.
